MSDC Photoshoot, Day 2

Here are a couple candid shots from Day 2 of the photoshoot.  We shot for 9 straight hours on Saturday, and then Sunday's crew shot ANOTHER 9 straight hours.  It was intense!

A couple of shots made it onto (our photographer) Kristen Jensen's blog:    www.kristenjensen.com/blog

Boxe Francaise Savate - Kickboxing

Savate is a highly sought but hard-to-find style of kickboxing in the United States.  Though most schools of Martial Arts focus solely on the East Asian traditions, this deadly accurate form of kickboxing is one of the last surviving modern European fighting arts.

Training Savate is a tremendous workout, especially for the core, hips, and lower body.  The style of kicking, coupled with Savate's unique movement, footwork and angling, develops tremendous strength and agility in the legs.  Combine that with the long range boxing skills that work the shoulders and arms, and Savate is a challenging total body workout.

In the ring, Savate is surprisingly deceptive because of its signature angles and rhythms.  Fakes and disguised attacks are a major part of the Savate arsenal, coupled with deceptive distancing and timing.  Though it appears aesthetic to the observer, Savate's pinpoint and powerful kicking is not to be underestimated.

Whether you want to step into the ring, or you are simply looking to develop awesome core strength & lower body endurance, training in Savate is a fun and exciting way to reach your goal.

Here's a video clip of our October, 2007 seminar featuring Moniteur Armando Basulto, which highlighted the differences between old style and new style Savate:
