10am - 12noon: Aikido with Chris Condon and Eric Klotch
1pm - 3pm: Brazilian Jiu-jitsu with Chris Wright-Martell
Aikido and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are both 20th Century offshoots from traditional Japanese Jujutsu. Each art has continued to grow in its own direction, but the foundation of efficiency and controlling one's attacker carries over greatly. See and feel the similarities and differences by joining us for this workshop on Sunday, October 23rd.
Chris Condon and Eric Klotch are the teaching staff of Needham / Newton Aikido, a new dojo outside Boston. They are working hard to spread the joy of this traditional Japanese art! Here's a video clip of them practicing during their grand opening earlier this year:
Known for its efficacy in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu has become the tour de force of the groundfighting arena. With its emphasis on control via superior positioning and leverage, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu students strive for high levels of efficiency -- wearing down their opponents, even when facing superior strength and size. This seminar will focus on the Kimura armlock, including many different ways to work around an opponent's resistance. Learn how to flow around your partner's strengths, rather than confronting it and struggling against it.
This seminar is open to students of MSDC and of Needham/Newton Aikido (not a student yet? Call MSDC today and start your FREE 30 day trial!). Pre-register by Saturday, October 15th for an additional $10 discount! (This seminar is already the deal of the century!)
